Evonic fireplaces that are installed inside a wall require 4" of clearance above and below. (2" for newer models). See below for details.
1. The 4" gap is required for proper electronics ventilation, thermostat temperature reading, and flame effect.
2. The flame ribbons are agitated using a fan which pulls air through the vent holes on the bottom of the fireplace, up to the ribbons, and out of the vent holes of the top. The ribbons may display little or no movement without the gap.
3. The 4" gap underneath can be achieved by framing under the edges of the fireplace with a few braces crossing the front and back. Do not sit the fireplace on a solid board.
