Safety barriers are not required but are available if desired.
1.The need for a safety barrier to prevent touching the glass of fireplaces is for gas certified fireplaces only. This regulation does not apply to certified wood burning fireplaces.
2. If your client is concerned, a physical barrier can be included in your design to prevent people from reaching/touching the fireplace.
