EV - Why does my Evonic Halo fireplace LEDs not turn off when the fireplace is turned off with the app?

This is likely due to a faulty PCB board.

Tools Needed:

Philips Screwdriver

Small Flathead screw driver

Pliers

Supplies Needed:

Halo PCB

 

1. Evonic says this is likely due to a faulty PCB. A resistor on the PCB  has failed.

2. Power off and unplug the fireplace.

3. Remove the front glass as shown in the Halo Evonic installation manual. https://www.europeanhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/EV-MAN-HALO-E.pdf

4. Remove the fire media.

5. Remove the two screws securing the hearth tray (fuel bed) with the philips screwdriver.

6. Remove the hearth tray (fuel bed).

7. Unplug the wires from the board and the flat head screw driver to remove the wires as needed.

8. Use pliers to remove the PCB from the standoffs. 

9. Install the new PCB.

10. Carefully remove the black WIFI node from the PCB and install it onto the new PCB .

11. Reinstall the wires.

12. Plug the fireplace back in and turn it on. Test the LEDs.

13. Install the hearth tray, fire media, and front glass.
